Georgette Adjoavi Bellow also known as. Bella Bellow was a renowned Togolese singer/songwriter. She was born in 1945 in Tsévié, Togo to a Togolese father of Nigerian descent and a mother of Ghanaian origin. She’s Togo’s most celebrated singer/songwriter, often performing her songs in both French and Ewe.

Bella Bellow made her first international appearance in 1966, representing Togo at the first World Festival of Negro Arts in Dakar, Senegal. In 1986, Togolese producer Gérard Akueson set out to position her as the next Miriam Makeba.
